The authors

Two vantage points on the same arena

One of us has run companies through storms that sank competitors. The other has spent years asking what those companies were for. The book is the conversation between us.

The Mechanic and the Captain

Dr. Hezi Aviram Shayb has served as CEO of the Israeli Vehicle Importers Association (I-VIA) since 2018 and brings nearly three decades of leadership experience across the insurance and automotive industries. His executive career includes senior positions such as Chairman of the New Kopel Group, Deputy CEO of the MCA Group, and CEO of Opel Israel.

Alongside his executive work he has been an Associate Professor at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies since 2017. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Crisis Management from UTM University and a second Ph.D. in Economics and International Affairs, specializing in strategies in the global business environment, from ASE University. In 2023 he was certified as a Business Arbitrator by the Faculty of Law at Bar-Ilan University.

A graduate of the Israeli Naval Combat Officers Academy, he holds the rank of retired Major in the Israel Defense Forces.

His professional experience runs through his writing. He is the author of four books on crisis management, leadership, and organizational strategy. Enterprise Crisis Management (2021) was recognized by BookAuthority as one of the top crisis-management eBooks, ranking #14, and presents a practical framework for risk detection, prevention, and mitigation across organizations. It was followed by Drive Against Crisis (2023), which proposes an economic model for governments and automakers to mitigate crises, accidents, and pollution, and Be the Game Changer (2024), practical guidance for overcoming personal and professional challenges while empowering young leaders and entrepreneurs.

His latest book, The ThinKing Queen (2026), co-authored with Inbar Offer, presents a leadership framework centered on execution, resilience, and purpose, with practical insight for entrepreneurs, CEOs, and executives who want to build organizations that are resilient, sustainable, and meaningful.

Beyond business and academia, his experience extends to sports management: beginning in 2009 he served for several years as the manager of Hagar Finer, five-time Women’s World Boxing Champion.

Inbar Offer

The Philosopher

Inbar Offer is a philosophy researcher and academic editor, completing his master’s thesis at Tel Aviv University. His work sits at the meeting point of two worlds that rarely speak to each other: the rigor of Western philosophy and the daily decisions of people who run companies.

In The ThinKing Queen he is the book’s Philosopher. His closing chapter, “The Philosopher in the Boardroom,” argues that meaning is not a luxury a company earns after it succeeds but the reason it succeeds at all. It takes the great questions of epistemology, existentialism, ethics, and justice and puts them to work on market analysis, strategic planning, hiring, finance, negotiation, and marketing, so that the tactical frameworks of the earlier chapters gain the depth they need to survive contact with reality.

As an academic editor he has spent years making difficult ideas clear without making them small, a habit that shapes every page of the book. He writes for founders who want to build something worthy of the years they will sacrifice to it, and who suspect, correctly, that the hardest questions in business are older than business.
